Caroline

Readers,

Welcome to the second comic in the new series. Keep reading in the coming weeks, when, as happens with so many of us, the hypothetical becomes real for Caroline’s doppelganger, and a new set of events, connected only in the most tenuous way, begin to draw closer.

Also, as David mentioned, we'll be at Kim's Mediapolis in New York City for a book signing of Attitude 3 on April 27th, along with a bunch of other comic creators. This will be a milestone for me because I never go to the upper west side. You should come, I promise you'll have a wonderful time and I'll do anything to make that happen. The farther you travel, the larger the signatures on your book! So for example, if you traveled from deep within in the center of the earth to see us, we'll just color the entire thing black, since there is no light down there.

Doible Troible

This episode follows the psychiatrist from the last story, as we learn a bit about his home life. Hope you're looking forward to following these characters into darker – and funnier – waters as Series Two proceeds.

I drew a cover for The Gamer's Quarter, a PDF magazine you can download! It's about video games, mainly the ones we were playing in grade school, which we look back upon to extrapolate post modern themes.

You can also get a physical copy of the 114-page, ad-free magazine for a very reasonable price at The Gamer's Quarter Shop.

There's an article in there I wrote about Doom and Super Mario 64 (pages 39-41). The GQ guys and gals did a really nice job with the layout and graphics, but added this (italicized by me) to the last line of my article: "The story of a game is its emotion, and this emotion resides in its tactile structures and reactive systems, not in its cutscenes."

ATTITUDE 3: The New Subversive Online Cartoonists is a new book by Ted Rall. Dale and I are interviewed within, along with a slendid array of our contemporaries. Please pre-order Attitude 3 through Amazon! Not only will you be a trend-setting early adopter, but pre-orders helps more copies of the book get into bookstores!

See the little falling book from episode 13 right underneath "Online Cartoonists"?

ALSO! Dale and I will appear with Ted Rall and some of the other Attitude 3 artists for a book signing at Kim's Mediapolis at Broadway and 113th Street in Manhattan for the evening of Thursday, April 27th!

Attitude 3 features: 1. Rob Balder: "Partially Clips" 2. Dale Beran and David Hellman: "A Lesson is Learned But the Damage is Irreversible" 3. Matt Bors: "Idiot Box" 4. Steven L. Cloud: "Boy on a Stick and Slither" 5. M.e. Cohen: "HumorInk" 6. Chris Dlugosz: "Pixel" 7. Thomas K. Dye: "Newshounds" 8. Mark Fiore: "Fiore Animated Cartoons" 9.
